Universal Geneve Compax - Redial? A buy?

Hi!
Been very interested in buying a UG Chronograph for many years now, almost bought one a few months ago, but it turned out to be a redial. Thanks to this forum I became aware. Now I’m interested in another, a 22295. I was wondering what you could tell me about it. Does the dial look good? Should I avoid it, or does it look good? Would appreciate every input.
thank you! Attaching some pictures.

Dial look genuine to me, but I'm no UG expert. I'd be much more concerned about the maxed out regulator, and the shape of the pusher caps (top one look chromed (?), and worn out). Maybe it is the lighting, but the case is a bit shapeless.

Outer and inside case back pics please. Its not a redial but we need ref and SN. The chrono hand tail appears to be broken off. The hands and the dial don’t condition match so more info is needed. This looks to be a 1950’s SN.

in my experience the cal 281 chrono sweeps are not easy to find (compared to 285), so that's definitely something to consider and factor into the price

Do you believe it’s a newer replacement dial? Otherwise does things look correct enough? What would you deem a fair price? 2500? Or more?

I think the dial is fine for the watch but the price is not imho. Prob worth half what he's asking but thats just me.

I'd be more concerned about the seller, assuming it is Shuck the Oyster (Arthur). It looks like his photo style. In my experience, he is not to be trusted. Buyer beware.

Here!

One chromed pusher and chromed crown, likely replacement parts. Case a bit worn. 3500 appears way too high for an old chrono that had a rough life, no?

No … This “probably” fits within the variations within this reference. The “2” in Sala has arrowhead indices however according to the factory pics. Unfortunately Sala is often incomplete with respect to variations so lets give this watch a pass on the dial. It most definitely has at least one pusher/cap replaced, chrono hand is broken and the H/M hands are corroded. That said its STILL a SS UG chrono. Negotiate as hard on the faults as you can. Not a collector piece but as a daily wear watch still fun.

Beware negotiating. I tried doing just this with Shuck on a more-expensive watch that had a couple replacement parts, but when I called them out as justification for my lower offer, Arthur put me (and collectors in general) down and became indignant and belligerent...all over a watch!

Sorry for all the questions! Found this one from a dealer in Paris that looks OK as a watch for a bit of daily use. Seller seems nice and open for negotiating on price. Anything that looks out of the ordinary I should beware of? Maybe get it down to a bit lower than 4000 euro.

The chrono sweep reset is either slightly off or the hand is bent, or both. Otherwise looks ok. Not great not bad. Case a bit
polished and mvmt a little rough, but I think these go for 6-7k usd in nice condition, if you can get this one for 4K euro or less that seems a very good price IMO.

Thank you! Will see how it goes. Seems good for me then, and won't have to be as worried about it.

Isn't it missing a screw under the chrono bridge? I don't remember if it is a dial or bridge screw here. In either case it is bad.

Between this and the bent hand, don't even bother and walk away from these clowns. At these prices you should get a properly serviced, clean watch...

I don't think I'd necessarily walk away over a missing screw and a slightly bent sweep hand; however, I honestly do share your frustration. Based on the quality of the photos, these watches are apparently being sold by professional dealers, and it is disappointing to see movements that are in such rough condition. Isn't part of the reason one might pay a premium to a dealer due to the fact that they have thoroughly vetted the condition?

It’s an indication that the well of good watches has run dry.

The same might be said of new watches these days, too.
