Universal Geneve 842139 - Crown Help

Hey Guys,

I am an owner of this watch below, UG Tank Ref. 842139. I have been on the hunt for awhile however to no avail, so I was wondering if anyone knows where or what other references I could find and source an original crown for it as this reference is not the cheapest to buy again?

This is my first post, though being on here for 2 years reading all the great posts! Please don't attack me below in the reply's 😂

The original crown is like this one listed on Chrono24, a dark blue stone cabochon.

Its gonna be impossible I think. Do you have a restoration watchmaker at your disposal who can assist you in finding a similar crown?

if you want to keep all parts Universal, 842109 with the same movement should have a cabochon, although probably a bit shorter than the tank one. If you instead want to go for an identical crown, I'd try sourcing a general non-UG one. As this isn't a logo crown, the chances to find one should be much much easier than most other UG crowns?

Perhaps a crown from Cartier etc? The real question is thread size. That’s why I suggest having a watchmaker or jeweler help spec and install.

Yes, I have seen UG models that were with same stone crowns however like you mention a little shorter. I’ll keep on the hunt! Thanks for the reply 👍
