    Greetings

I recently purchased a 2782 Connie from a member that has a unique medallion replacing the Observatory. Its an image on the Virgin Mary (halo was caused by lighting).

An extract indicates that the watch was delivered to Australia 1957, when I purchased it, it also came with a 7077 bracelet.

Any of our Australian member recognize this medallion or aware of a religious order that had these made? Its very well done. Here's the picture:

Ever hear of a hobo nickle? Artists take coins and carve new images into them.

Most likely some did this with the medallion

Then there are the real artists who command the money

My observation of Constellation 2782's leads me to believe this to be the only Constellation reference who's case backs have a tendency to lose their medallions. I have seen it on a number of examples and also have one myself sans medallion.

I would speculate that yours lost its observatory medallion at some point and the one you have now is custom made. As to the lightening strike halo, well I really can't take that seriously?

This watch appeared in a thread previously a couple of years ago.
And IIRC without the halo in the first iteration , which was purposefully added later for that ‘special’ effect. (Nothing to do with lighting or lightning)
If you are a devotee and like it, so much the better - but it has nothing to do with Omega.
