Serial #19668002 circa 1962 Guilloche "shantung" style dial in matte black And a nice brass one, too. 17j unadjusted And I think Singer made the dial...... Desmond says it passes muster as all original. Has the Omega logo on crystal and UV activates lume at markers and on hands, briefly. Obligatory wrist shot tonight http://www.mediafire.com/file/o5zayzn34mz/Unearthed Omega Calibre 560 Rarities.pdf
That is actually really amusing - like there was a nutty OCD day worker engraver who was going ham on the back of the dial before they dragged him off the machine and threw him out.
I'm wearing this one today, so let's bump this thread to see if there are now more than 3 cal 560 examples from Forum members.
And a 1960 ref 14730, which I've discussed with Desmond personally, he's only seen a couple of this reference. Original one year only bracelet too.
i'll play. here's my linen dial KL6312. my mom gave it to my dad when he graduated from college, and 27 yrs later he gifted it to me when i did. i'm not one for gold, but i love it on a shell cordovan. looks like it could use a buff with polywatch, but wearing it i don't even notice. i hope to pass it on to my son, when he graduates.
just remembered... i have another one that i picked up fairly cheap on the bay for parts... so -1 from the 3000
handful +1 the parts 166.013 in stainless. same dial and handset, just in stainless not the gilt of the KL6312. still runs. it's actually in nice shape, and other than the split bezel ring, the case is sharp. i would have guessed the crown wasn't original, but here's another just like it. https://watchcharts.com/listing/144...6-013-cal-560-stainless-steel-34mm-mens-watch
I personally happen to believe that there were way more than 3000 produced. I see them come up all the time on the bay. Don’t know but 3000 from 1960 I shouldn’t be able to see them as regularly as I do. One mans opinion.
my KL6312 is serial #1884XXXX, my 166.013 parts movement is 20m, and we've seen a 17m and 23m on here... seems like a huge spread for a production of 3000 movements. what gives?
I can only guess that since they were for the Us market they were made in several batches to meet specific orders. But that far apart does seem unusual....reference my comments on the matter.
