·Due to an incoming IWC, I am selling this uncommon Omega Geneve Reference 2748 in stainless steel. @Tony C. did a nice write-up on this reference on an old sales ad, so I will quote him below:
"These Genève models were (excluding the Rg chronometres) the top-of-the-line manual wind watches produced by Omega during the '50s. They were the Omega version of the Longines Flagship, and, in style, the Patek Philippe Calatravas of the day.
The cases and dials were "Deluxe" executions (note the subtle chamfers on the lugs), including lovely gold markers which reflect light differently than steel. They are powered by typically excellent 30mm movements.
These models were produced in two sizes, 34mm and 36mm. The latter were low production, and rarely appear on the market, especially in good condition."
The 36mm stainless steel case is in great condition with clearly defined chamfers and sharp lines. The signed crown I believe is original. The dial had a layer of grime on it which was lightly cleaned to expose the original honeycomb silver dial.
The movement is clean with crisp winding and time setting, but I have not had it serviced. The movement is a cal 266 with 13.8 million serial, a very early example of the model line and consistent with the -1 caseback stamp. The watch will be sold head only, as pictured. It takes a 19mm strap.
For this watch, I am asking $850, which will include shipping in the USA. International deals are welcome with shipping method to be discussed. Transferwise is preferred for international sales. Refunds only if the watch is misrepresented. I have lots of feedback in the Seller Profile section if you search by my username.
