Hi OF,

For sale today is a pretty uncommon 50's Constellation with a screwback case. I think this is only the second known example with this dial configuration that I can find (the other is owned by a very respected member here). These housed a 501 or 505 caliber movement and only a very tiny fraction were put into 2887 cases.

You can read more about them on Desmond's (@mondodec) blog: http://omega-constellation-collecto.../omega-constellation-black-sheep-returns.html

I bought this watch from the original owner's nephew (yes, that kinda makes it an uncle watch). I can provide the email he sent me with his uncle's story. He says that his uncle wasn't a particularly formal person and didn't wear this dress watch all that often. He also chose to wear a modern watch, so it sat in a drawer a good while before I got it.

The nephew has told me that he just had the watch serviced by a watchmaker in the US, and I spoke with them on the phone to confirm. That being said, the movement looks to be in pretty good shape but I haven't really tested it for accuracy. I can't guarantee functioning as I just don't know that watchmaker (but I can share his info with the buyer).

This watch is really reflective. It just shines. It was hard to capture photos but I'll try to give you in a few different kinds of lighting. The dial is an arrowhead Pie-Pan style with a crosshair. The markers and the hands are in great condition. The dial has some kind of a light speckling on it which I personally do not think detracts from the watch.

The case is in great shape. Really does not look to have been worn much. It is hard to tell on these gold cap watches if they have been polished as the edges are naturally a bit softer but this one certainly hasn't lost any of its edges or facets. The medallion is in great shape and all stars are clearly visible. The crystal and crown are signed and original to the watch. Comes on a very lightly used black pigskin watch strap from fluco and a generic gold buckle.

See pictures as they really do speak volumes about the watch and its condition. With a special watch like this, I'd be happy to do a video call of some sort to show the watch to you.

I'm asking REDUCED USD $2250 OBO net to me for this uncommon specimen shipped in the US. Paypal/Venmo/Zelle all accepted. International shipping to be discussed.

Feel free to reach out and ask any questions!

Thank you!
Ben
