So less than 4 years old and I notice a spot on my crystal that I can’t clean off. The reason is because the spot is on the inside. A section of paint from the subdial hand came off and is now stuck on the underside of the crystal. The watch hasn’t been apart. I’m sure I’ve lightly bumped it enough for dial scuffs, but this seems kinda weird to me. Anyone have any suggestions? Appreciate your help.
These are 4 years old... Wow... I think it is still under warranty so that is how you resolve it. Dial cleaning and new hand.
These were among the first to get the five year Omega warranty back in 2018. You should definitely send it to your Omega service center.
So here’s a question: it’s getting close to needing a service. If this repair is under warranty, do you think they cut me a break on the service since they have the case open? Wishful thinking, perhaps?
Just checked mine....solid as a rock, no loose paint or anything on the dial or hands that is abnormal. OP, unless the watch is giving you a problem it shouldn't need a service yet as they are less than three years old. I would send it in under warranty to have the flaking hand replaced and the dial cleaned, if it is not running within spec Omega will address it at that time. It's under warranty for five years after delivery, so until sometime in the last half of 2023. You should not be paying for any service work through that date unless you have damaged something that is not covered by the warranty (dropping it, banged up case, etc).
My standard speedmaster professional has this issue, but it hasn’t been serviced in at least ten years. Definitely make use of that warranty, and I’ll echo others in saying don’t worry about a service for now.
i suspect they will service the movement under warranty if they have to open and clean it anyway to change the hand
Just wanted to update this post. I picked my repaired watch up from my local Boutique today. It was repaired under warranty and they did a complimentary "Complete Maintenance Service". Nice to have it back.
