A phone call and some texts...see a pattern here...a 1998 1 owner 14790ST arrived. Boxes, booklet with stamp from Paris AP Boutique, and a fresh 2018 AP service. It been polished by AP, but is still sharp.

The 14790ST is a terrific watch, and it's nice to see you snagged the earlier 'long indices' version - congrats!!

I totally agree, amazing how it wears. Yes, it’s smaller, but man the proportions are just right, and the long indices really make it.

I’ve been orbiting around these for years. New and vintage. Can’t make my mind up. I like the idea of the smaller size. Less ostentatious.

I was in the same boat. I had tried on the 15300 (too big). Even the 15202 didn’t feel right.

Then I got a chance to try on the 15450 at 37mm.

perfection.

Congrats on the 14790.

Enjoying my 15300 all the same! Has definitely become a mainstay on the wrist.

It’s been a big week...the AP arrived Tues and the 1675 gilt arrived Thurs.

Like every other watch this year, a buddy reached out...his friend was selling a RO and he thought I may be interested.

A phone call and some texts...see a pattern here...a 1998 1 owner 14790ST arrived. Boxes, booklet with stamp from Paris AP Boutique, and a fresh 2018 AP service. It been polished by AP, but is still sharp.

Super comfy, so I may daily it for awhile. Wears great at 36mm.

Wow, that is gorgeous! Congrats!

At the risk of stealing your thread, does anyone have suggestions for resources on the different AP models. I want a Royal Oak, but like to do a lot of research before pulling the trigger on such a purchase. There doesn't seem to be an independent AP forum, just sub-forums.

The secret...

I use credit cards...my credit cards, and I sell off watches and pay off the debt before the next month rolls around.

I've never used ANY joint money to fund ANY watch purchases. It's all been done through soft money and hustling.
You've got a WAY better hustle game than I do... CONGRATS!

I still want you to not like this watch and then text me on it 😉

I like the new direction of smaller watches. I remember buying 44mm+ and thinking it was manly. Now I prefer 40mm and smaller; funny how trends change.

Glad you got one! I couldn't be happier with mine.

This is a classic all over. The 36mm looks very much like the modern 37mm 15450, but the thickness on the 14790 feels so much more proportional.

Amazing! I may or may not have also picked up a 14790 this past week. It may or may not be at my watchmaker for a little check up now, and may or may not also be showing a bit of brass on the dial. Congrats on the pickup!
