Ultra thin NATO strap in leather

Hi all,

hopefully someone can direct me to a good source. I’m looking for a leather NATO strap that is very thin. I intend to gift it to a very good friend. Most leather NATOs I’ve seen are thick and bulky. I have one that is very thin and supple that came with a watch I purchased years ago but I don’t know the source.

Cheapest NATO straps have some very nice and thin leather NATO straps. The only caution I would have is that they can stretch a bit over time, but otherwise I have been happy with them.

I got one from Crown and Buckle that is quite thin (1.3 mm if ordered as a single layer according to the website) and has held up for the past 3 years.

I had the same requirement when I made straps for my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. I found that single pass straps were less bulky than 'regular' NATO, and thin leather was helpful.

In the end, I went with a single pass leather strap from this chap on Etsy. The leather was 1.7mm thick, very supple and comfortable. I could also customize the length so there's no long 'tail', and the strapmaker allowed me to make the keeper a contrast colour, all for no extra charge. All for a very reasonable price including shipping. Overall , it looked pretty decent and I like it a lot.

There are quite a few strapmakers on Etsy that you can also explore besides this chap, if you're keen... big selection out there. Finwatchstraps can also do very thin (1.0-1.5mm) single pass leather NATOs. They're more expensive though, but they do have cordovan options.
