How to artificially wear a NATO strap?

Bought a nato strap that looks to new for my knackered watch, will some sandpaper do the trick ? Or have forum members devised any better ways, other thoughts were washing machines and bleach

400-600 paper is used to "age" patches for costumes... Might be worth a try.

Just wear it and you鈥檒l eventually get the results you鈥檙e looking for.

yeah got a few that i have had for 10 years that look great, but want to speed up the process for this new one to get it going a little

I'd try washing machine and direct sunlight. Not sure I'd want to try sandpaper, but if you do, please post the results. I'd like to see that. I've personally always taken the long route with breaking in my NATO straps.

need to get round to this but yeah i think thats probably a route, the idea was to have a faux distressed one
