Ultra Rare 1960 Omega 2998-4 Original Bracelet and in Original Box WOW! From my personal collection. Here is a 2998-4 in unbelievable condition! These just don't come up for sale often -- and this one is in better condition than most 2998's out there. I purchased this watch from the estate of the original owner about 10 years ago. The family told me the owner only wore it on 'special occasions'. In the 10 years I've had it I have worn it about half a dozen times (only on really special occasions)! Dial: Original condition dial has a lovely aged patina on markings and hands. Hands: Correct pointed hour and seconds hands. Bezel: Correct bezel with "dot over 90" in and accent over "Tachymetre". This bezel is in spectacular condition (almost perfect) - there's a scuff above the 225 mark - otherwise its pretty clean. Usually these are all scuffed up. Case: Beautiful crisp condition with very few scuffs or deep scratches and straight lines. Case-Back: Crisp sea-horse / sea serpent on the back. Inside case-back are all correct markings and watchmakers service dates and NAWCC numbers. Movement: Lovely clean Omega 321 Chronograph. Serial number 17,765,XXX Serial number dates this watch to 1960. Inside the original dust cover is in place. Crown: Has proper Omega logo. Crystal: Aftermarket crystal is perfect. I have the original crystal and spring-bars. Original crystal has the embedded omega logo in the center of the crystal (pictured) Band: Original 161 Band Box: Original box "BOX MADE IN SWITZERLAND" and "FAB SUISSE" Watch runs and keeps great time. All functions operate properly. Chronograph hands snap back to 12 as they should. Last serviced in 2012 so it may need service at any time... Hi Guys, Watch may be sold! But if we can't reach an agreement it goes to eBay this weekend!!! Will keep you all posted!
@thewatchguy - you need to keep the advertised price in the post after a sale or after withdrawing a posting. It's done for reasons of transparency and possible later research.
We see this so many time. Watch is bought, price and pictures removed... Then Sold elsewhere with premium and no traces on the net...
It was a private transaction and I was unaware that removing the pics etc was a violation. I've apologized many times it was an honest mistake. Keep the info here as long as you want. It was sold for an undisclosed amount. My asking price was 35k. Sorry again
Me says this is a textbook case warranting a no-exception 200 post rule... (and no daily bumps either, but we digress ) At least, thanks to the OP for bringing the original contents back
So when I buy a 2915 that I'm scouting I shouldn't be able to post it here for sale because of an honest error? You guys are tough! Sad
Well I'm not that senior on OF to be honest... But I like it a lot because I see it more of an enthusiast's safe heaven rather than a marketplace
Ok fellas. Mistakes happen. He knows he made one, you burnt him at the stake. Any more replies will be deleted so please don't bother as on now!
