I'm impressed at the effect that the new 50mm (or however enormous it is) Zenith Montre d'Aeronef has had on the Ukrainian horological industry. Not only have they upped their prices, but they've dropped all pretense and camouflage about what their product is.

A new day in the Ukraine, thanks to the Montre d'Aeronef::facepalm1::

The Montre d'Aeronef is a pilot's watch, in the same way that the mantel clock was your grandfather's wristwatch. It sat in the cockpit dashboard.

modern Zenith had the idea to put a strap on it

And really, what could the Ukrainian watch butchers have done except take it as an affirmation?

...unless as a warning that they needed to make their stuff even larger and thicker.

I always put the Ukrainian watch "industry" down to fall-out from Chernobyl.

Yes, I see that. Like the Hulk. Explains the size.
