Sure she does, it’s just everything else that her and her party say and do that’s an issue.

Sunak, who has personal wealth of over £700million probably has lots of much more expensive watches he’s just not worn any in public and been photographed… yet.

Ah, not British but I’m left-leaning, so I understand. I just meant that what she wears has nothing to do with her job.

I read that it’s his wife whose the rich one….

Funny Biden got flak for his DJ. I wasn't aware. Nobody had to point at Donnie's watch, he literally told us 1000 times whenever he got the chance that he's rich. BILLIONS.
Joe is a watch guy. He has a nice collection. His wearing the DJ is fine with me.

I’d laugh like hell if it turned out to be a knock off...

If its a knock off, he learned a lesson from Charles Leclerc...

Biden caught flak for the blue DJ he was wearing on his inaugural as being flashy. It’s a $6k watch, Donnie’s watch collection (although very dated) never caught criticism and he has some heavy hitters.

nfn but the guy wearing the DJ has been in public office for his entire life ... the other guy was running as a rich dude, so I'd expect rich dude watches, no?

As long as a politician has bought his/her watch it's of no issue. Same for the car they drive or the home they live in. It's more problematic when they wear a watch that they didn't buy but was given to them for an unknown (to us) reason. Some of the pols mentioned in this thread are in this category. Red flag.

I know we’re mostly just poking fun in this thread and having a laugh. But at the end of the day politics is all about image and perception. Perception is reality. If a politician says out of touch things about low income folks while enjoying luxuries it’s going to be a bad look and make them appear out of touch with their constituents. Opponents will certainly exploit this to attempt to tarnish their image. It’s the game they signed up for. IMO a true man of the people would wear a Timex and have affairs in the Oval Office.

That being said, if you look at how hard past world leaders used to flex, I think it’s probably okay for present day world leaders to wear a nice watch with their boring suit and tie. If someone is upset that the President of the USA wears a DJ maybe they should also be upset that he wears a nice suit. Perhaps rags would be more appropriate.
Exhibit A:

Let them eat cake I say.

So in the continued spirit of fun-poking....

And probably adopt a more "talking down to the lowest common denominator name" like

Anthony Charles Lynton Blair becomes "call me Tony".

Don't get me started on combovers and excessively long neck wear hahahaha......

I was always told that if your tie goes below the belt line, it looks like you are pointing to your penis…he does like to advertise.

I could be making this up. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the too-long necktie is a visual trick to make one appear thinner.
