I've been hunting for a Railrouter for quite some time. This is the only Universal Geneve that has some connections to Canada and it made sense to me that I had to get one. Sometime last year I sent out an e-mail to a local posting on Craigslist but I was told the watch was sold. Three months ago the posting came back and I bombarded the seller with e-mails but never got a response. I figured it was a scam and told many friends to let it go because it was fishy. Wednesday evening I get a message in my inbox apologizing for the delay and asking if I was still interested. I didn't waste any time as I knew that the window of opportunity was going to be short and I was worried the seller would be scared away again. I told him I would meet him in a public place of his choice and that I would pay his price and that day was today.
He told me that his grandfather had been given the watch as payment for furniture restoration and that he had inherited it along with a Rolex Air King. He didn't want to sell it but he needed to raise fund to restore the Rolex.
This is the RAILROUTER 1205 which was used by Canadian Pacific workers. The case ref is 865100 and serial number is 2901XXX
If you see me selling some watches, this is why.
