I thought I'd share with you two lovely pockets watches. I regretfully sold one about a year ago, but still have the top one.

I wish I had them both still....

Lovely. I have to say, pocket watches wink at me regularly - hard to resist the come-on....

Very nice! The top one has a cooler dial IMHO. What caliber is the movement in the picture? It looks like 141?

If my memory serves me right, they are both 17L calibers. I might take a peak tonight to make sure.

Post a bigger pic and we'll tell you for sure.

    Both are pretty nice.

I would if I could, but I sold it.

I will of the first one, if I get it open.

Here are some photos of the top watch. Excuse the bad pictures. I have no natural sunlight.

The movement is of a slightly higher quality than the one pictures above, with a better finished barrel and a few extra jewels.

This is one of the 37.9 series calibers, probably a 37.9 ABC, from 1937.

Interesting, 37.9 stands for the diameter of the mechanism. Also known as the 17.69NZ.

I posted pics of a Longines Pocket watch a month or so but I am too inexperienced to pop the caseback. Any suggestions how to do this properly?

The caliber number should be under the balance wheel towards the outside of the movement.
