Tri-Compaxes, Compurs, Space-Compaxes and all the rest are great and now Very expensive, but Universal was a geat designer for 2 or 3 hands watches (actually, they were known for their elegant style, first of all...), so guys, 2 or 3 hands watches are sill affordable, let's give back to Ceasar, what belongs to Ceasar...

Showed this one some months ago here at OF, and it was not taken serious by some collectors. Hodinkee offered one of these rare birds last week at its shop for 1.3k $ and sold it on the next day. Must not be taken to serious, but they wrote "While remaining underrated for now, this slim watch constitutes a very important part of Universal Genève history, and looks stunning on the wrist."

At least I wasn´t all wrong to add this small wooden UG to my collection.

 

It sold almost instantly. Pleasant surprise.

Given that the 262 has to be one of the most widely-used 3 hander calibres, surely you can get a better, replacement dial than the redial that's on there. The squashed U logo reminds me of somebody who I used to work with; he was a rather large chap and chose to compress the photo on his personal website to make himself look thinner.

 

Wow! That unsolicited comment hurt a little!
I wear the watch because I actually like the dial as it is, and because I have a strong sentimental attachment to the watch. The fact that it is a redial and has a squashed U logo does not perturb me.
To me it is an elegant and beautiful watch.

 

I apologise if the comment hurt but it doesn't take away from the fact that your watch is a pretty poor re-dial. I'm very pleased that you like it but it doesn't change my opinion very much.
