There's not much I need to say or present here regarding the Omega Centenary model as I know that we are a forum of Centenary lovers all the way! On a personal level, the Omega Centenary is very special to my heart as it is one of the 3 or 4 non-Seamaster models which I respect very much and have coveted since I was struck with this "Omega Seamaster only" obsession!
Having noticed a huge preference between the respectable forum members towards the "larger" Centenary 2500, I thought to start off this "Smaller Centenary 2499 Lovers" thread. (If there are any of you out there like me!)
Purchased more than a year ago, and finally arrived after some major TLC on my watch maker bench, I introduce to you my 2 new family members.....
Centenary 2499 - 1st Generation, Cal. 28.10 RA JUB (2,000 pieces produced) in 18k yellow gold

A very nice pair of 2499s, M, and thanks for posting them. I love the correct period strap on the 343

I was lucky enough to find that strap set with the Seamaster Chronometer case box purchased earlier (posted on the "what did you buy today" thread) and they fit perfectly :) Although the model and shape of the straps are true to the period, they are an off-white / beige colour which may have not been, so am still on the look out for a tan / brown set ;)

Definitely a very charming reference. Great set. Prefer the dial configuration of the 2499 to the 2500. If only Omega had just made it the same size as the 2500, it would have been perfect. 20140526_082215.jpg

I personally have not seen a 2499 in rose gold but they probably exist. Omega subseconds bumper chronometres while generally uncommon are downright rare in 18k rose gold. Come to think of it, any non-constellation vintage omega bumper chronometre is rare in solid rose gold.

And he paid a ridiculusly low amount for that Seamaster Chronometer case box and Vintage Omega strap!!! If the seller would have shipped to Canada it would have been mine. :whipped: LOL! At least you have a really nice watch to put that strap on, and yes, my tan / brown set is not for sale. :)

Nice, I want a strap like the one on the 343 for my Seamaster Calendar, oh well I'll just have to keep looking I suppose.
