After the last fiasco i should probably stop but now I'm at a reputable store in Tokyo looking at this piece, a Tudor reference 9411 serial 723xxx. What's the story with that dial? I can't find much info on it other than the occasional ones that shows up on Ebay for too much, which on itself sounds like a bad sign. It has the original worn band that expands. The bezel is not clicking.

There is a rolex shop down the block. If i pick it up i could have them look at it for authenticity.

A quick google search throws up a couple of them listed on ebay (historically) but I can't find any more information on them than that.

But by whom? Back in the day this wasn't the cheapest watch to go redialing wily-nilly.

Bump.

Isn't it weird that there seems to be a number of these floating around and nobody seems to know their origin?

A similar one came up a year ago for discussion at WUS and most thought it was fake. The dial looks a little pristine to me to be genuine

Layout of dial also looks weird. Hour hand covering little bit of hour marker instead of either not overlap or overlap completely.

Aftermarket (or more accurately counterfeit) junk dial, there are tons of them pouring out of Asia

How hard would it be to find the correct dial?

This is in Ginza. If i buy it i can walk it to the nearest rolex shop to verify the case and movement.

As some of you already pointed out. A fake dial with "baked" lume on hands and dial. If the price is right, buy it and replace the dial and hands 😀 If you like it as it is, buy it and wear it. Good luck.

Not that hard. A simple WTB on VRF will give you some emails.

Dial and hands are a dud, bezel isn't original either, the movement even if correct in these is just an ETA anyway, so you'll be buying the watch effectively for its case from a dealer at full watch prices.

Case is fake too - I think the whole thing is garbage - sorry to tell you - run far and fast.

Bezel and Insert are fake
Crown is fake
Can't tell if the case is fake unless you post a shot of the serial and Ref # between the lugs
Is that at rivet bracelet on there?
Looks like 19mm End Links...

Top of the crown guards is wrong - nothing else to see / need. This particular one has been on Ebay before - from Japan IIRC.
