    Hey All,

Have a tudor Oyster incoming that I'd like to have a couple of bits done on.

Any recommendations for a watchmaker in the UK that's good with Rolex/Tudor?

    Cheers

    Chris

Here ya go Andy: Tudor Prince Oysterdate

It's on an aftermarket bracelet, but that can be solved with a nice bit of brown leather... Maybe the new Hirsch Heritage Ranger?

Thinking a service and a reseal would be a good idea too!

I'm guessing it could go anywhere as it's an ETA movement in there.

Does anyone know if things like crystals and crowns can only be supplied to a Rolex authorised repairer?

    That might limit options.

I haven't had the watch back yet, but I would recommended Dunacn @ Genesis in the UK for servicing based on my experience so far. Has a great reputation and has been excellent in keeping me up to date with the service of my Rolex Date 1500. Has access to genuine parts but will only replace what you want replacing. Only problem is that it isn't cheap - looking at £400 or so for a full service. Would hope/imagine that Tudor would be a little cheaper.

I've heard good things about Duncan - he's on my list to call Tuesday. :)

Had a few recommendations for michlmayr in Norwich - anyone got experience of using them?

Haven't had Duncan do a Rolex yet but he has done a couple of 321 Speedies for me. Not the cheapest or fastest but excellent customer service. Just as an aside he uses a PO Box and won't ship outside UK.

Michlmayr have come back at £350-£450 plus cost for crystal and crown.

I emailed Duncan though his site, will wait and see what he comes back with.

Rolex/Tudor themselves weren't interested, and suggested I call a company in the west end... who have a 12-18 week lead time, and quoted just north of £700.

On a recommendation from the Rolex Forum, and having just spoken to him, it's going to Graham at Superlative Time.

Will update as I have news. :)

Update: It's going back to the seller.

I went to adjust the time this morning, unscrewed the crown, and the whole barely came out with it.

There's also a loud knocking coming from the rotor... which Tudor experts tell me is a worn rotor/bearing unit... that is NLA.

Seller being very good about things, and taking it back.

Suspect this could be the end of my forays into the world of Tudor.
