Well I gave it to the Hawaiian gods as sacrifice....so the watch fruits will be plentiful this year for my self.... and it is Tudor that is what it is on pennies and dimes , not benjamins

Was with mine in hawaii got the most wrist time on vacation ... held up well , not as bling as a sub
Plus on the forums you can get these at or a smudge 2k, there is a lot here for that much... eta tells the time as well as an inhouse so why pay price premium

Do you think these can still be had for around $2k? I'm itching to add one to my collection sooner rather than later as I think they look incredible (particularly the black bay black that you have) and I think that the ETA version in particular is going to be a future classic -- assuming Tudor sticks with this new "in-house" craze.

Edit: Silly question, looks like there's still plenty for sale on watchrecon at right around $2.4k. Guess I thought the ETA was becoming more scarce than it actually is.

I have a black bay black and I love it. I probably wear it more than any of my other watches. I purposely got the ETA version due to the way service is going to be handled compared to the in-house movement. There is one for sale here for a reasonable price, it's the blue version though.

Love these straps @Brandon_Dexter may I ask where they are from?
Sorry. For some reason I was not getting notified when folks quoted.

They are from Artisan Strap Co. Very thin and minimalist design. Super comfortable.

I was thinking of buying a Black Bay red bezel today. People seem to really love these especially the Black Bay. I don't fully get it. I know they are owned by Rolex. It's like Rolex just made a cheaper knock around Sub and people went bonkers over them. Maybe I'm missing something?
I like the value that the whole lineup presents. The eta movements will be serviceable by any qualified watchmaker for darn near ever. Aluminum bezel inserts like the 5 digit Rolex. Matte dials. Gilt dials. All at less than half the price of a 114060.

I had a dssd and several other Rolex watches for a long time. A sub at $8k. An entry level DJ $6000. No thanks. No value there to me.

I have a somewhat vintage complete Tudor sub set and will pick up a 14060 sub at some point soon. But beyond that and a 16600 SD i don't see me owning a other Rolex. Not any modern (ceramic) Rolex that trips my trigger. Wellllllllllll, outside of maybe the WG sub. Darn.

Thanks guys! This is a timely thread. The Black Bay red is also on my list for this year. I saw one in person recently and it looked chunkier than I was expecting. Now I'm on the fence. I'll think on it a little longer. 😵‍💫
Do it. Do it now.

Mine was 2.15k was watchuseek....do be afraid to ask for some coin off...careful though these are faked quite well...so buy a good seller , with all box and warranty card ( those are harder to fake)

I have had one for about 2 years. Every time I put it on I get a smile on my face. Not a "serious" watch, but fun. It feels sturdy and it is easy to read.

Negatives: side profile view a bit unsubtle
I have it on straps and there is a big gap between strap and case
The case in between the lugs is unpolished and looks unfinished with a strap.

Negatives are minor. Enjoyment factor 8

I'm a massive fan of these. However, I have just sold mine last week. The reason being it is right on limit of what I can wear size wise due to my skinny wrists. I loved owning it though, the dials are beautiful and they are really comfortable to wear.

Well fresh off the FedEx truck, seems like a well built watch, and with a ETA movement, can't go wrong.

I was in AD recently and tried on a few Tudors (Black Bay and Pelagos). The salesman was certainly very clued up on his knowledge although I was shocked when he said that allegedly servicing of their inhouse movements is incredibly inexpensive (circa £<£200) as it's down at their centre and not with Rolex apparently.

He also added that models with red text on the dial (eg. Black Bay Steel that uses the inhouse movement) is often a sign that the run will be limited (albeit not a limited edition) and should hold its value well (eg. LTD model). This could of course be a sales tactic but was wondering if anyone else has knowledge on this and the inexpensive servicing?

It was also said that with David Beckham being on board as brand ambassador now the sales are allegedly rocketing. Hmm??

Not sure that would be a major recommendation to buy! As a few of you will know I am really keen to have one of these, the red bezel and ETA movement appeal. I think they offer excellent value, but must hold off for the moment, other commitment!
