Good day my friends, I encountered this watch today and found it very attractive to me. It is listed as a Tudor 7909 with calibre 390. May I know a fair value for it? Thank you for your help!Screenshot_2023-11-20-23-53-19-606_com.thecarousell.Carousell.jpg

Please post clear photos of the dial (and other angles), the asking price, and any research you've done on previous sales.

Can't comment on that particular one--it looks great+correct, but values are all over the place. I will, however, note that in a dozen years of bringing watches to the best watchmaker I know, the Tudor cal 390 gave him the most trouble--not because it's a bad movement, but because parts are just impossible to find (the early subs ran on 390s, too, so most parts have ended up in those watches). If you can be certain that it's recently been servied by a qualified watchmaker, sure (depending on price). If not, I (personally) would pass.

Here you go. I have done some research, and all records were from professional dealers with rocket high price. I also notice some watches with the "+" sign under the rolex logo on the crown but some with "-" sign.tudor_7909_black_honeycombwaff_1635173495_0e8c17e0_progressive.jpg tudor_7909_black_honeycombwaff_1635173495_87d449e7_progressive.jpg tudor_7909_black_honeycombwaff_1635173495_3927f301_progressive.jpg tudor_7909_black_honeycombwaff_1635173495_cd08bf23_progressive.jpg

Looks legit at first glance, and although the lume plots are very dark, the dial is pretty nice overall, and that's where the value is. The case is a bit rough and polished with some cratering of the lug holes. We all probably have an idea about how much we would pay, so it's really going to be up to you to decide how much it's worth to you. The 34mm size does limit the value, and Tudor is not Rolex.

Value? Easy. It's the condition of the mvmt. First: colour of the mvmt. Pink gold or rhodium; determined by the age. It's all about the value of early Tudor submariners. The base movement Fleurier is easy to service . The Rolex added Automatic module and there the 2 reversing wheels, is the unobtainable part. If it was serviced and both wheels work flawlessly, the value is $ 2000 plus .
