Tudor 7020/0 with incorrect bezel and dial on chrono24?

Hi folks,

Starting collector--appreciate all the detailled discussions and helpful advice here. I've been chasing a black dial Tudor date+day 7020/0 for a while now, and have been reading up on this watch quite a bit.

So, having found this 7020/0 listed on Chrono24 a few red flags are raised for me: a bezel with minute marks that I haven't ever seen before, "day-date" on the dial (instead of "date+day) and convex "self-winding" instead of straight. Also: princess oysterdate? It's sold as a men's watch!

So I wanted to check with you guys. Are my assumptions correct?

Everything on this watch looks odd to me, especially the things you mentioned. But, that means nothing. It could certainly be a legitimate Tudor, but I've never seen this particular model anywhere. But the thing is, like most big manufacturers there are models issued in limited quantities in limited markets that may be completely new to wherever you reside. I never buy watches online anyway. If you don't see it and inspect it in person before getting it, you're truly asking for trouble. Nothing is faked more than watches, and this goes back to way before the internet and buying stuff based on photos only.

I see your point, @ScubaPro. I've been very cautious buying watches online so far--pretty much whenever something seems off, I don't buy it. There's no way in hell I was gonna buy this thing. If you know a trusted seller willing to part with their black dial 7020/0, please let me know!

Could you tell me more about the bezel on this watch, @JohnSteed? I haven't seen a thunderbird bezel with minute markers on a 7020/0 before--is this a special edition?

Unfortunately don't know enough, but seems a rare variant. Toothed areas of the bezel also seem in the same place as 7020/0, meaning about from 55-05 and 25-35

Fascinating. I'll check in with the folks at vintagerolexforum.com to see what they know. It's pretty straightforward to find a white dial 7020/0 these days, a blue dial pops up every so often, but black dials really once on a blue moon. At least, that's my impression so far. Love how your white dial turned grey, it's gorgeous!

I know I am very late to this discussion, but was there a final decision regarding the authenticity of the black dial?
The Rotor/self winding lettering is unique (curved) to what I have been seeing online.
