Trying to make up my mind between these 2...

So I have to make a choice between 2 vintage pieces, from two friends who gave me generous prices which are identical. The first is a vintage Movado, a basic dial. I like its hands, although its patina is rather heavy.

The second is a vintage Mido Multifort. It has a more attractive dial.

I prefer the Movado brand more but I am loving the condition of the Mido.

Any thoughts? I'm on the fence between the 2...which would u pick? thanks

Both are nice in their own aspects.

The Mido is dressier, though a different coloured band would allow you to dress it up or down. If you get the Movado changing it to a leather strap would be nice since the metal bracelet will dig into the lugs over time.

Would your friend know anything about the service history of the watches? You will need to factor in that cost into the price.

EDIT - Get the Mido.

In this case I would go for the Mido. Attractive dial and a automatic - very convenient. Not sure but it might be Francois Borgel cases for both of these watches. Actually I'm a speculant on a Mido powerwind in steel.

If it were me I would pick the one I think I would wear more. That would be the Movado, but I agree the Mido looks nicer so 馃槙

Being partial to stainless steel watches, I'd go for the Movado, although I do like Midos and this one has a pretty dial. Be sure to check the gold on the lug tips/edges for wear.

I prefer ss watches in general, but of these two the Mido would be my pick, nicer balance overall and the dial of the Movado just looks a bit bland to me.
