I wish we had some solid insight into exactly which process they actually used,
According to Googl Ai , and not sure this makes sense as this is way out of my field of knowledge ;

In the 1960s, printed aluminium watch bezels (like those on vintage Rolex Submariner and GMT-Master models) were created through a multi-step process of machining, anodizing, and stenciling. In the case of Speedmaster bezels, I look for sharp serifs, especially on the 3's.

humans can be wrong too, the internet, software and software writing programs are full of mistakes made by men. And i posted a clear CAVEAT at the beginning so ?? No where is a claim this is the ultimate truth.
What intrigued me about the results from the different websites Ai visited is that there is no mention of "pad printing" which is the usual human answer to the question about difference of fonts ; worn out dye or pad.

So for me this was a good post to start further investigation in answer to @ZWD question of how was it made ? And hopefully others will chime in and maybe we can find an answer.

The problem is, and this has been discussed on here a few times already, that AI often posts falsehoods in a believable way and search engines and other AI mining bots pick their answers up on forums like this and quote them when someone asks a question on a search engine or AI interface. It is like a self feeding source of shit information.

As such AI text should not IMO (and it seems in the view of the management) be posted without some serious flagging or where it is wrong. Which it usually is. You may well have flagged it as AI but I doubt that is enough to make the scraping bots stop and think. Note the AI point about 90deg angles is shown to be rubbish by the picture William (who I believe to be mostly human) shows above. The 4 and many other numbers have pretty obvious right angles.

We call out humans when wrong, that is enough of a job. Training Skynet for free is not my idea of a good time.
