I'm pretty suspicious about the dial, the OMEGA font in particular, for a watch of that age. But if it's original, that's an amazing watch.

Could be a newer service dial.

What do you think of the case hallmarks? Isn’t the “750” inside the balance a modern control mark?

The pieces look right, but the whole looks odd to me.

Not sure about the alignment, but the Ω logo looks to be a newer, sharper type than the rounded logos used in the 1940’s and early 1950’s.

Also, not sure about the double stepped case with no reference or serial number.

As I said before, the whole thing looks weird to me.

Personally not being an expert - if the dial is not a redial it would be in amazing condition (sitting in a drawer or vaccum packed for 75 years).

You can see the case has definitely got some signs of wear. This factor alone probably suggests there's a decent chance of a redial IMO. The alternative is that the dial was swapped out for a NOS one. The dial face also does not match the wear and ageing of the moonphase disc.

I find comparing the font is always a great way to check - you can see the top of the 'A' on OMEGA has a flat section, whereas the piece you linked has a sharp pointed tip. I think probably another sign pointing to the fact that it is a redial. (see photo below)

On the flipside - I'd take subjective opinions with a grain of salt on forums also though. I've found that many original dials from earlier periods (50s, 40s, 30s) do have minor imperfections - and this can be expected. A lot of people on forums love to try and pick out reasons why some dials redials, without any real evidence ('its just a feeling I get') - so be aware of this mentality.

    DYOR :)
