Triple calendar Moonphase 2486 - The search is over

After a long search for ‘the right one’ I finally acquired an all original 2486 in decent condition.
Anyone looking for one of these 37mm ‘jumbo’ sized watches (and indeed the smaller 2471) will be aware of the poor condition of the examples normally available.
Most dials are either original but very poor, or re-dials (often aged but given away by inverted date numbers or seconds plots on the inner ring).
This one is truly spectacular for a late 40’s watch - Great case, dial, hands, crown and all functions present and correct - I love it.
The wait and hunt was well worth it.

As far as I’m aware there was a ref 2485 which was the solid gold version.
Other than that, the 2486 was also available gold plated.
It appears that the stainless steel version is considerably more scarce than the gold finished references.

Actually gold filled and most often in rose gold. As you say the stainless steel is way harder to find and much more expensive too!

Lovely watch, however I think it may be ref 2471 which is a bit smaller than the 2486.
I think ref 2471 had the minute markers inside the date markers.
The larger ref 2486 had minute markers on the outside of the dial.
