Hey brains trust.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Have a question RE a 22258 that I was hoping to get some help with. I'm a watch dealer, and have been offered a 22258. I'm just having trouble finding another with the exact same dial configuration.

I've seen some that are similar, with the 10 kissing the day window, and seconds counter, but those had minute track arabics. Curious if anyone can shed any light?

I believe it was sold by World of Time in Munich, but it's not on their site or the IG any longer so can't see any further info.

Thanks!

Dane

Likely to hear from someone more knowledgeable than me, but I think I saw this watch on Reddit under a post about a 22536. I’ll include the photo here, they called it a 22259. ‘40s more likely than ‘60s, right?
From the few I’ve seen those subdials usually have attractive snailing, or if they don’t then those 3,6,9 telephone poles might have Arabic’s. The hour numerals here seem distinct, and the last two letters in universal look like they’re off to holiday - which, if true, would make that minute hand placement pretty despicable, so my offer would match. I’ve done no research and ain’t that bright.

Thanks so much mate! That's super helpful. Looks like the same watch to me. You're not wrong about the last few letters of Universal exiting stage right...assuming the new owner didn't place the minute hand there on purpose when sending me the pic as I don't think he's particularly experienced in vintage. He only just bought it in the last week or two I believe. But yeah, not a great look. I would have ensured I had some more pics sent across in natural light before committing, but was just doing my preliminary research and just couldn't find another with the same configuration. Those letters are enough to cause concern.

Interestingly, someone popped this example up in the thread I have going in the UG FB group. Similar spacing on the 'A' and 'L'.

Think so? The prior one looks like it’s got a runaway caboose comparatively.
On looking at them again, you're right. First one is definitely exiting stage right far faster than the second.

Thanks for the input, all. Consensus on the FB group is that it's likely fairly heavily refinished, so will let the owner know.
