    Hi Everybody
I´ve just purchased a very nice 145.022 transitional, with applied logo , step dial and papers. (The bezel is not DON)
I let it open today by my watchmaker, the movement number matches the papers, but to my surprise the casebook is stamped 145.012
I was reading that with transitional models not all 145.022 68 and 69 were released with the DON bezel for example (Fratello watches reviews).
Is it possible that this watch left the factory using a caseback from a previous reference?
Attached are 2 pictures with both sides of the paper I´ve got with the watch
    Thanks

    No, very unlikely.
What year is in the case back 145.012-68 or 145.012-67 ?
It had a DON bezel originally.

Pictures of the movement and serial number?

    dial pictures also?

otherwise can’t really tell you what you have or how the mismatch came about.

Well, if the bezel has been changed, it's not shocking that other things were tampered with over a 50 year period.

I agree, I assume that the bezel has a lot of wear over time, and may be the previous owner made a service and they replaced it with a new one.
But I wonder with the caseback. Anyway I wanted to write Omega to get an archive , which case number should I provide then? With the movement serial there is no problem . Thanks

We could help you more with photos, there are so many questions we need to double-check with you otherwise. The serial number would be helpful. Also, I know this seems obvious, but can you confirm that it is a cal 861. When you request an extract, you don't give a case number, you give a reference number, and if it's a cal 861, the reference must be 145.022.

Sounds good for a 145.022-68 based on what I've read previously on the forum.

Ok, then if I want to get an Omega archive (I never did it), I should say it is a 145,022-68 together with the serial number? Thanks

I don't recall that you include the -68, just the reference number 145.022. The extract will also only provide that reference number. And yes, you give the serial number.

I wanted also to know about the reference written on the papers: ST1451000221 , do you know what it means?

Great Don, thank you very much.
Should I try to get a new caseback with the reference 145.022 68 on it?

That's purely a personal decision, but if it would make you feel better, then go ahead. Unfortunately, they are quite rare. I think you should come close to breaking even when you sell your current case-back.

The easy explanation is that it was another way to write 145.022, which is also sometimes written 145.022ST or ST145.022
