Transition to the Transitional

Hi gang,

I love the transitional references. I think it's cool to see one reference morph into the next.

I thought I'd share two -68's. They look almost the same, but inside, they are quite different.

Stepped dials, applied logos, long indices, DON bezels, baton hands.

Single stepped casebacks with hippocampus.

On the left, a 321. On the right, an 861. Different references in the casebacks too.

Post some pics of transitional references you have!

The 145.022 has a 1039/516 as well, but I like it on the 1168/633.

I can help you get rid of that unnecessary 1039.

OB1 rocking a 1968 in both 321 and 861 style! How close are the movement numbers?

Nice. I wonder who has the last 321 or first 861. My tightest pair are

145.012-68 265532xx
145.022-68 265578xx

145.022-68 26,555 5xx

I assume there was no overlap between 321 and 861 serials?

Wonder if we all will share full movement numbers. 😉

I'm going to theorize that 26,554,999 was the last 321 speedmaster.

My MWO is in storage while we move house. Anyone know what kind of precision it gives for the serial range for 68 321's and 68 861's?

Edit: Speedmaster101 quotes 321's with 27xxxxxx serial, so looks like there is an overlap.

Mwo says 26,555,xxx for the first 145.022-68 and
26,554,xxx for the last 145.012.

Interestingly, no 145.012 in the 27m range in mwo.

I'm sure we've had a thread on the highest 321 serial we could find (although I can't find the thread now).

What's the earliest 861 we've got?

Not sure about 861s as a whole, but the first 145.022-68 would be 26,555,xxx per mwo.
