U familiar with Project Gutenberg? Fee downloads, like open source.....
Check out what they have, it has been awhile that I checked watchmaking.
If you need a laugh or so, check out Mark Twain's
"Eves Diary" & also "Exracts from Adams diary "

The lathe and staking kit are Boley.. I am looking for a manual for the lathe and any knowledge including what collets to buy and what tools are for what. I will be adding pictures as this moves. This is my jump to serious hobbiest with high ambitions. Thanks for anything.
Project Gutenberg has like 4 books under Horology

You left handed?
The lathe is bacwards, there were some [ English or Swiss ?] would run that way.
Watch some youtube vidioes on watchmakers lathes & use.
Yep I’m a Southpaw. I was wondering if I could flip the scissors over or do I need the ones with four finger holes!! I will look into this aspect for sure before I put steel to brass. Thanks again.

Obviously the lathe will work that way too.
You may have to check the collets for tightness more often & make sure stock is secured.
