The lathe and staking kit are Boley.. I am looking for a manual for the lathe and any knowledge including what collets to buy and what tools are for what. I will be adding pictures as this moves. This is my jump to serious hobbiest with high ambitions. Thanks for anything.

I think you are asking someone to itemize the hundreds of tools shown in your pictures? I know what most the items are, but how do you propose I go about identifying what is what in such a jumbled assortment?

Thank You. I will put in some closeups and more detailed questions. I have been swimming in the lathe learning what is what regarding collets, lubrication, cleaning and set up before I begin to use it. I guess I am also looking for advice on whether to start on this super old lathe before I invest more $$ in ol Betty here.
Which 8mm collets fit what lathes?
What is the best way to mount the motor?
How does one decode the serial number?

So the the WW Boley Germany collets fit best. The Peerless fit but not as good as the Boley.

Can't help with literally any of the watchmaking tools (sorry about that) but I sure am interested in any information you can provide on the guitars in the background!

You aquired old tools, good start!
Staking set, mainspring gauges, mainspring winders...?
The aluminum strip in leather case is a jewel gauging strip differnt size holes..?
Dismantle the lathe head stock [ pulley end ] & clean old lubricants start with fresh oil
You can go on line in a jewelers supply house & look up watchmaking tools to help iddntify

First one is a frankinStrat with Martin Springer Body/ Squire electronics and STarcaster neck the red bag on the headstock has an aftermarket tele bridge that I will add next. Second is a Danelectro short bass. Third is a rosewood hollow body electric circa 1970s MIJ.
3rd is an old Aria SB Bass like Cliff Burton’s’ (not his signature one) 4th is a Tradition Les Paul Tobacco Burst awesome guitar . 5th is my white Stratocaster with locking tuners and roller neck Jeff Beck style setup added a crystal doorknob for the tremolo knob. 6th is a Washburn bass my wife got me nice and light weight. Bottom guitar is “Hank” we took the neck from the Martin Stinger and built this body with Cherry top and back with Birtch laminate in the middle and some strat electronics..Les Paul bridge added later and made it super playable hank is heavy as hell but worth it..

Looks like a jeweling tool, I can't see enough detail to be sure.
No info on the top in French?
Hard to see if it is accessory or a complete tool.
But, it is a very old tool!
I will scan my ref. books & see if I can find it.

Thank You Mike. Nope no marks anywhere that I can see. The small “bits” are tooled at both ends.

Well, Kevin answered the ?
The broken jewel is removed & the tool with the expanding end is used to open the lip.
The other tool is used to burnish the lip with the new jewel in place.
See if this makes any sense.

Yes!! I will get those books for sure. Thanks for your help. Just mounted Betty on this old sewing machine. Now I will clean out the old lubricant and get suitable oil. I found some stretchable rubber sewing machine belts 8” diameter.

You left handed?
The lathe is bacwards, there were some [ English or Swiss ?] would run that way.
Watch some youtube vidioes on watchmakers lathes & use.

Wait till Your Mother gets home!

For now, spin it 180 when ready to try it out.
