Yes it's that time of the year again, but starting a week early to avoid clashing with the Paris Olympics. Opening stage is on Saturday 29th June from Florence (Firenze) to Rimini with 206 rather lumpy-looking kilometers.

Team lineups are coming out with Visma-Lease a Bike looking very strong, and Israel-Premier Tech leaving out Chris Froome for the second year.

Anyone going to be at the roadside?

I'll be TV-side!

This. Favourite time of year. Judging by the fantasy league they think Pog is nailed on. Most expensive price for a rider I've seen on there in the last few years of playing along. Would love to see him do it but don't want an easy procession like the Giro turned out to be this year.

tough parcours this year. something in it for the sprinters (c'mon Sir Cav.) plenty for the climbers and TT specialists. TdF course designers have become sadists in recent years... gone are the days of a flat first week. Look at that 1st stage! ouch. No warm up, straight into it. Would love to see Pogacar do the Giro-Tour double. Bring on July.

We will have to see how strong the Jonas/Wout combo is, are they up to full health or are they going to struggle? Froome's run is over, he's never fully recovered from the horror crash in 2019.

Really pleased for Romain Bardet on Saturday, he has always been a trier and retires after this season. The last 30 km were real nail-biters with the gap over the peloton down to just 5 sec at the line.

For those who haven't tried it the official Skoda live app is quite good. The time & gap data is pretty much real-time and the map displays good enough. There is enough data to show that it's a lot better on a decent size tablet than a phone.
