Always so nice to see someone so happy👍
Congratulations on being able to get to that point, especially as it seems to have been a big effort.

For many people on this planet, a watch like this is a very big purchase and is not something you pick up like mushrooms on the side of the road.

If I had a Seamaster... That would be this one! Terrific look, great pics, thanks!

So very true! It took me a long time to be in the position where a purchase like this could be a reality. It’s a great sense of accomplishment. And now I’m concerned all the “lesser” watches in my collection will be neglected!

Very nice indeed and congratulations!

This was my first Omega over 25 years ago and it's still looking and running beautifully . . . .

Why would it be a concern? If they’ve done their time with you, you can just sell them and someone else will enjoy them.

Great selection. That reference is a stunner with the waves & date at 6. And you are obviously an accomplished photographer as the photos are also stunning.

Congratulations! I wouldn’t mind the very light scratchers at the clasp, use it for what it’s build for! Go diving, to the beach and whatever you want to do with it. Live it.

I’m over the moon
A subtle hint for you next watch...? 😉

Hahaha. Hell... maybe! I’m pretty sure I want a Tudor next though. But that could change several times between now and my next acquisition!

This is something I have been looking into more recently! I have been looking to make an addition to my collection without shedding out to much money and that has me craving my first Omega. Not sure which one Ill grab as I am trying to save money, but I saw that I could find a couple under 5k from a recent read, but want some opinions! https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/buying-guides/best-omega-watches-under-5k.html
I am still so indecisive after reading this article, yet I think I am leaning more towards the Seamaster Planet Ocean. Which one do you think I should grab, any opinions are greatly appreciated!

I was in a similar dilemma. I’m normally into large watches and I had my eye on the 45.5mm Planet Ocean 2500 for a long time. In fact I had the opportunity to buy one for about the same price I got my Seamaster. In the end I chose the Seamaster for a couple reasons. First, I have a lot of watches that are “similar”, in size and general design at least, to the 45.5mm Planet Ocean (Marathon JSAR, Seiko Turtle, Steinhart Ocean 44, some Deep Blues etc). And second, the “Tech” of the newest Seamaster won me over. That new 8800 movement with its practicality antimagnetic properties and METAS certification was just too tempting for the price. I was concerned 42mm might be too small for my tastes but that went away the second I put it on! In the end though, buy the one that talks to you. You’re the one who’s gonna wear it and live with it. Buy something you love, and who cares what anyone else thinks! That’s my opinion.

If you can, try before you buy. For example, some of the sizes are deceptive -- ones you'd think would be too large, fit smaller, and vice versa. Others, frankly, like the modern Railmaster, are about as polarizing as you can get, and it has to be seen in real life to figure out for sure what camp you're in. Some love it, but I can't stand the dial, though the price is very attractive. I had a PO from 10 years ago that I just sold, and I loved it. Built like a tank, and was super accurate throughout the years I owned it.
