MK II hands
Now that I have spent this much time looking at this, would these not be MkIV hands?

MkII for reference

A case from a MK II ( we think)
MK II hands
Post 1977 dial
Very early pre 71 861 movement.
Can I ask why you think it’s a post 77 dial? It’s hard to see because the crystal is so bad but it has what looks to me to be a stepped dial. I’ve read the stepped are pre 74(?) I think? I’m not suggesting you’re wrong as I’m really new to this, just trying to see what you’re seeing. Thanks!

Sure that is pretty easy actually. The step is around the minute track and yours is not stepped it is domed around the minute track, not the subdials. Also a MKII should not have a step or some.
As for the date… we’ll in Sept of 1977 they changed the Font of Speedmaster slightly and that dial persisted in the mid 80’s. It can be easily identified as the “S” in Speedmaster drops to the bottom of the “p”. Earlier dials all had the S above the bottom of the P.

hope that explains that.

So the step in a stepped face is more pronounced than this? I assumed domed meant more of a gradual curve.

Hmm 321 service dial?

That font should not be present on a step dial. It looks to good for a redial so 321 service dial makes sense combined with the the rest of the parts

Can you guys recommend a watchmaker in the Miami area where I can find out about what's wrong with the movement/have it repaired/serviced?

Funnily enough my cousin is called Delrin.

Nah, only kidding. He's called De Ville.
