Hi Everyone,

I’m new to the forum and to vintage Omega watches in general (or pretty much any watch that’s not quartz or a fashion watch). I’ve been researching the past week or two and I’ve really been drawn to Seamaster Devilles.

I’ve been looking in the Private Watch Sales forum, Ebay, Chrono24 and Etsy. I’m still learning about movements and reference numbers but stumbled upon a listing that I’m interested in but wanted to run it by the experts here first.

I’m in touch with the seller regarding the movements and reference number but he said he doesn’t think the watch has been serviced since the engraving (40 years yikes). Would you buy (I’m concerned this will be a project watch)? He’s selling for about $500.

With other words... if those papers are original, the watch with box is worth more then $ 500 IMO. I would buy it.

Good for you. It's very nice. Enjoy.

Personally I would ditch the bracelet, buy a nice alligator strap, give it a service and you're good to go.

That would be 50 years since it was engraved.

Beautiful fonts used by the engraver.... they had style back then.

Welcome to the rabbit hole!!!
