Hi,
I recently added this Tissot Seastar Chronograph to my collection.
I was wondering if one of the members could help me date the watch which is in very nice condition.
The movement serial number is 2394077.
The inside caseback number is 40502-7X
The numbers under the balance are 1281 & 871.
Also a cross with LWO across the middle.
Many thanks.
Russell.

Your watch dates to the early 1970s, based on period advertising and the Tissot logo. On time-only Tissot watches and early chronographs there is commonly a Tissot serial number that can be used to more definitively date the movement production to a specific year. However, by the 1960s the chronographs produced for Tissot only contained Lemania serial numbers. To my knowledge there are no references that can correlate a Lemania serial to a production date.

Hi Vitezi,
Many thanks for your reply and link. That's why I couldn't find anything on the movement number as we know they were made by Lemania in this period.
Cheers Russell.
