    Tissot-Seastar-1281-Ad.jpg

I'm trying to find something useful concerning vintage Tissot watches and these days, google is chock full of commercial links, FS ads, etc... a real bazaar of bullshit but I'm coming mostly empty of interesting bits of info.

Here is what I found so far:

    A catalog of vintage PR516s / technical watches from the 60s-70s :
    http://chronomaddox.com/tissot/manual/tissot_technical_watches/tech_wide.html

    Something for older Tissots:
    https://www.fratellowatches.com/vintage-tissot-information/

Not much else... I'd like to find something with more depth concerning the pr516 lineup, its history, something about the various refs, bracelets numbers, bezel variations, etc.

Feel free to post here your links or your docs! Also, did anyone here order an archive extract from Tissot?

Hey mate, I once helped a buddy who had a similar question regarding the 516 lineUp. This are the pics I had left on my phone.
Can do scans if necessary when I am back from my honeymoon ;)

Hope the pages help for a start (1969 and 1970 German catalog)

There is an in-depth book on the history of the firm that may interest you, but it is not a product reference guide:
TISSOT: 150 Years of History 1853-2003 by Estelle Fallet

For time to time you can find Tissot catalogs from the late 1960sPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network and 70s on eBay:

    Hello to all,

I have several documents related to Tissot 70's as advertising, catalog and technical one. some below. If your are looking for something special I may be able to help you. Be aware that I'm not the Tissot archive but maybe I have something that may help you.

@bubba48, where did you get these copy of archives ?

One of my lucky find is a document signed by CH,Tissot

    how lucky you are.

I've tried once to contact Tissot to have more information about the blue Seastar Chrono above which may be used by Alpine car drivers in 1973, but I've just received that they will look but no more later answer.:(

I collected Tissot for many years and in that period I had started a fruitful correspondence with the museum and with the people who were reorganizing the archives. This was possible until a few years ago.
Archive excerpts are now available for a fee

I've seen that Tissot provide archive extract but I afraid that I will expect more data regarding the model itself instead of my specific watch.

    3 candidates :
1/ Tissot Navigator with Lemania 5012 from 1976.
Until now I didn't find any advertising or catalog about this model.

2/ Tissot navigator "yatching" with Lemania 1341 from 1976 also.
More info available about this one and some advertising available.

    3/ Tissot aquastar regate.
As it is a co-branding I don't know what they will be able to find.

Number 1 is maybe the best candidate to evaluate their service.
Otherwise maybe I will try to contact again Tissot about models history especially 1 and 3.

    Smart move by Tissot!

Nothing supports the value of a new watch more than a company caring about its old watches.

Increase the value of vintage = increase the value of new watches

Hello @Mariosm and welcome to the forum! Your watch is authentic but the dial has been repainted. Watch collectors call this a "redialed" watch, and they avoid them because collectors prefer to buy watches with the original factory markings.

If you are just starting out in the hobby of collecting vintage watches, please take some time to read the posts at the top of the Vintage Omega section, especially these:

What I noticed too is that the font is inactive without a san serif and as i saw other watches with this in the case write automatic or vesidate this i will not see again. Is better to find another but authentic.
