Today for sale is an honest and all original Tissot automatic chronograph from the early 1970s;
The dial
The non-symetrical black dial with its 2 white subdials, white framed date window, white/black hour and minutes hands, and quite vivid orange/yellow chrono hands are quite appealing to my eyes.
The Tissot brand logo, the 'Automatic Navigator' model names, and the T swiss made T markings are all good to me.
The lumed indexes, the chrono railtrack and the tachymeter bezel are nice too.
Some greyish stens are visible around 12 on the white chrono hour subdial.
The case
The stainless steel cushion case has signs of use but has kept its original shapes. I've taken many close-up pictures to show how it is. Not a safe queen but still a pleasure to wear. The size also makes it a very wearable piece with its 38.5mm in diameter, and 43mm from lug-to-lug.
Round pushers & the crown are all correct.
and from the rear :
The case back has all the right markings too : the tissot logo, the reference and serial numbers.
The movement
This watch is powered by a Tissot 2170 movement (which is based on the Lemania 1341, itself the base of the Omega 1040).
It is a signed 17-jewel automatic caliber with 44 hours of power reserve and 28800 A/h.
Everything works as it should. I've tested it on the timegrapher and the results are quite good, if not strongs +1sec/day, +290° amplitude for a zero beat error. The service history being unkwnown, it is still better to count on a service if you plan to wear it daily.
I personnaly bought it in May 2021 and have worn it less than 10 days per year.
My own Review :
This is only my 3rd sales post here, but I've got many other references as a buyer. And I'm happy to say everything went smoothly in all of the transactions - as a buyer or as a seller in OF, C24 or in a French Forum where I do buy from time to time. And I intend to keep it that way 😀
