Please fill me in on 'softies' ... I'm just a damn southern Yankee, but I'm looking forward to my first trip to London sometime soon...

I'd like to at least think I know a bit about British lingo/customs before hit London-Town...

Do wish I could make a GTG with all of you guys/gals, but I have no idea when I'll actually get there...

I was thinking maybe 'softies' was a term for some type of food, like a soft pretzel...

I coincidentally am flying to Manchester tonight and will be there for the next two weeks. I have no plans this weekend and while I'm not on your list of "usual suspects", it isn't difficult to label me a reprobate.

The first two are softies bourbon is consumed with a softie. One way to tell if it's good bourbon. If I remember my Americana lessons correct.

No plans to be in foggy London Town in the next few weeks in afraid.

Note to self - I will make a GTG in 2017!!!

 

Let me know if a GTG comes together and I will make an attempt to come to the "insert common reference for London here... as I don't know it..."

Should be a roughly 3-4 hour drive from where I'll be...?

Growing up in the burbs of Chicago...they would call this 'pop'

 

I'm only 30 minutes away from Manchester so if you want a catch up over a beer I can meet you somewhere. Can't do this Saturday but Sundays good.

 

Will let you know. I haven't made any plans yet but also haven't checked with local colleagues yet either.
