Hi OF

This has come up for sale locally and keen for any views from SM fans - some pics from the seller attached which unfortunately don't allow for a really close inspection - but I'm not looking for a safe queen. This has been clearly worn a lot (hopefully for what it was intended to do) but - apart from the hands - seems to be original (at least to my eye - and hence throwing it out there...) Any and all opinions appreciated to extend photos enable - thanks!
Movement is 41840209 which dates to 1978...

The 'outlining' does look very white in the pic - repainted/lumed versus replacement?

What I am happy with is that dial is original and not service, 1010 movement is correct, and the bakelite bezel is correct for the model...

The minute hand is questionable.

Found this pic tho which does have the margin of the minute hand as 'white'...?

That set looks ok to my eyes. The minute hand on the SM now has either been relumed (most likely) or replaced with an incorrect type.

Thanks Art and some re-reads of threads on the forum - satisfied that it's all original with possible exception of the minute hand (meant to say hour hand in post above...) Have pulled the trigger and - being here in NZ for one - I'll have it come Tuesday. Watch was also serviced last year by a watchmaker well regarded for capability with vintage Omega movements - a bonus...

Best packed arrival I've ever had! On close examination the minute hand appears original - the orange outlines has just faded with time. Confirmed by Adam Lewis from a close-up pic - so have a completely original ST 166.0250 which very pleased about!
