Hey guys! I haven't been around the forum in a while but after browsing recently I caught the vintage bug again [emoji23]. Anyway I made a hasty bid for something on eBay and since I'm so rusty I was hoping to get advice. The watch in question is this Seamaster 2577 with a 352 and a nice waffle dial. I realize his asking price is high but he did take my offer for a good deal less than asking. I know the crown is incorrect so I was wondering if everything else looks good. I know you're supposed to ask advice before you buy, I just got excited.

I'm not sure the 12, 3, 6 & 9 markers are original. I don't remember seeing markers like this before.

Now that you mention it, I thought they looked familiar but now I can't seem to find a similar example online.

If that crystal has yellowed, the dial would look better behind a fresh one. Can you upload a photo of the isdide surface of the case back? Seems the jury is out on the dial. Butbeven so, I might have sprung for that one myself. I like it!

Looks good to me! Those quarter markers are so wacko that they have to be right.

I think the case has been a bit overpolished. The dial looks original and correct to me.

A proper clover crown should be available without too much trouble.

Caseback markings and movement look fine.

Thanks guys! Glad it checks out. I probably overpaid a bit for it but whatever, I like it :). I'll be sure to post pics when it arrives!

It's hard to overpay for such a watch.. There is just not a lot out there like this, so if you want it, you got to pay what you gotta pay.. Who knows when another will come along if ever. Beautiful seamaster!!

Have a 351 Seamaster with the same marker type. Never been sure it's original, as I haven't found those markers on other watches. Still not sure....
