·Having only owned Seamaster 600s, geneves and the like, I would really appreciate your advice when taking a step up:
I have been offered this ref. 176.005, the so-called Jedi (EDIT: I have been made aware that this model is often incorrectly referred to as Jedi - count this as one of those times). I have had the watch in hand and the seller is a great guy but I have asked for a day to think about the purchase.
What I know: The finish on the case has been restored by a watchmaker and the dial, bezel and crystal are nos original replacements. It holds a caliber 1040 which is freshly serviced.
Being offered at 1.200 euro, my personal opinion is that it is a quite fair price for a watch that has been tastefully restored and the fresh service (which of course isn’t cheap on chronographs) makes it a good buy. What do you think?
Thanks
