I’m curious what fellow members think about the originality of this one. The dial appears untouched though I’m not certain about “SWISS” at 6 o’clock. H, M, and chrono second counter hands appear correct though I doubt the subdial hands are. Aside from likely needing a service, movement appears fine. The case back, however, does not appear original as it is unsigned without engine turning. I’m unsure if engine turning is done on gold plated surfaces though.
Any thoughts regarding the unsigned case back and the dial originality? The few examples I saw had signed case backs.
The dial does not look refinished, just worn. Comparing with the example below, I think that the case could well be correct. Not certain about the hands or crown. https://www.artomatique.net/lemania.html
Thanks for you input Simon and Achim. I wish I could find another example with the same dial to confirm hand type. It's my understanding that the 15TL originated in the 1930s from a pocket watch movement and hence its larger size. I believe it's the predecessor to the famous Omega 33.3.
Your hands are quite ok. You have to shorten them. And that seems possible with hour and minute hand. Cut and angle pointed tip by hand. Minute exact to the end of the minute railway. Hour hand cut and point by hand direct behind the rounded "belly". Apply matching colour to the side of the hands, where you did cut it. Will blend in and your problem is solved. Good luck! ..... The 2 small counter hands are too thick as well.....
