Thoughts on this Japanese Seamaster and it’s value?

Hi all, new to the forum and I’ve fallen into watch collecting pit for a few months now.

I found a vintage Seamaster cross hair model on a Japanese store today and hoping to get some thoughts on authenticity and value. When it come to watches in Japan I’m generally not too concerned about authenticity but never hurts to check. I’m hoping to visit the shop but it is a bit of travel so will save the trip if it’s a bad one.

Please see photo, unfortunately the seller doesn’t have a photo of the inner side of the caseback or the movement. The caliber is 552.

The writing on the watch seems original but I haven’t been collecting for long enough to know for sure. Though slightly concerned about the wise made writing as there doesn’t seem like there’s enough space between the two words.

If its original, given the condition how much do you guys think it’s fair (or what price would be a steal?)? I know value is very subjective but would love to know what you guys think.

update, I came across another seamaster with crosshair in similar style (subtract pie face / add date). What are your thoughts, the “S” looks like the older font but looks genuine. The crosshair is also thinner than the fonts. Price wise, it’s again around 600 USD.

Personally I think the condition of the pie face one is a tad better. But date function is a nice to have. Which one do you think it’s better for the collection? (Not asking you guys to pick a watch for me, it just interested to hear some thoughts)

Thanks

Should be 166.003, looks excellent as far as I can see.

Can't see if the crown is Omega signed but the dimensions are correct (semi hidden)

Thanks, got the model from the seller, 165.003.

So dial looks original?

Any thoughts on it’s worth?

Cheers

Looks nice. Regarding value, I think you'll get more feedback if you tell us the asking price. Otherwise you can search the sales forum (and SOLD eBay listings) for similar watches.

Not bad at all IMO, especially for Japan. I have the impression that prices are quite high there for well-known brands.

Ops I read it wrong...yes it is an auction. Do you think it’s authentic and worth throwing in a bit more money?

These japanese items are often authentic, without more pictures you can't be shure of course...
Are you willing to pay a total of 1500€ 1700USD?
Do you need a flat link bracelet?

Got the movement photo, I think it looks okay.

No problems that a good service won't fix. 👍

Flatlink with 7's? Good luck. Your mailbox will be flooded with buyers 😀

I'm not a fan of brown croc, but a leather NATO is worse, IMO. Too casual and bulky for that watch

I actually agree with you, the bulky part about the Nato. I prefer it over the brown croc but am on a hunt for a better one.

Two watches involved here, as far as I can see the OP bought the watch without the flat link bracelet - So no flood in his mailbox 😉
