Hi all, I'd appreciate an evaluation of the piece in the photos. I know there's info out there stating 105.003 pushers should be 4.5mm x 3.5mm (and that given this has an RJ/FJ signed caseback they should be screw-in) and that'll be ascertained in good time. However, I also understand that pushers of those measurements came in different forms/shapes, with different profiles, stems etc. So, by eyeballing it, can any of the experts out there comment on the originality of these? Cheers guys
It is true we see variation in pushers, and can only speculate why there are minute differences in profile. I see nothing about the OP pushers that give me cause for concern. Indeed the OP knows more than me if he has connected the case back signature to the screw in/press in characteristic. Kudos! I have not done that!
As to the pushers being short and fat, Well now you mention it.... Possible the light? EDIT: On second look I think they are narrow enough. The lighting really can confuse sometimes on pusher size.
For what it’s worth I think that the pushers look correct. The angle that a photograph is taken from can be deceptive when looking at so many features.
I agree with @Spacefruit and @Basset Hound. I think the edges of the tubes do not appear very well defined in one or two of your photographs, and this makes them appear wider than they actually are. The 'fat' tube sides sit much closer to the inside of the pusher rim on my 105.012-65. Also if you compare the height to width ratio on my original 'short fat' pushers, you can see that the pushers and tubes in your pictures look correct for the 105.003 reference.
It is really hard to discern a difference of 0.05mm from photos but the pushers look correct to me. Side note, that is a very nice looking Ed White. Congrats!
oh, those were the days: Search Results Dictionary alacrity /əˈlakrɪti/ noun noun: alacrity brisk and cheerful readiness. "she accepted the invitation with alacrity" My emphasis, obviously. Wistfully.
I think the pushers are right. Top three photos are from three of my Ed Whites, the bottom two are enlargements of OP’s photos.
