The auction ends in 30 minutes - I am very interested in it - but knowing there are a lot of fakes, I would like to check here first. Thoughts?! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-OME...561379?hash=item28141438a3:g:j4UAAOSwYlJW6MicPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Crown not original and bezel looks from another model. Not sitting flush. Too many bad marks on bezel and case back. Also bad dial images while others clean (trying to hide something) Big pass DON
Thank you SO much! I was sitting on the fence and I told myself to register and ask - I am glad I did!
So, will you be choosing an avatar and staying for a while or will we be left standing at the altar, yet again?
Is anyone aware of any guides as to what to look for on vintage Seamasters? My budget isn't high - and I don't mind a few flaws, but I don't want to get hosed either!
Google and a search of the Vintage board will give you more info than you can possibly digest quickly, but it will give you an idea of the obvious red flags. Once you've gotten past the obvious red flags, post your questions in a thread, here. The only thing most members ask is that you do a bit of research first. Also, and most important,IMHO, start your search for a watch on the Private Sales board. You have the best chance of not getting bent over.
A good place to get some quick education would be these two threads. https://omegaforums.net/threads/please-report-fake-counterfeit-item-s-and-seller.7699/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/worst-redials.2304/ When you know what to look for, the bad ones are easy to eliminate.
