So i am looking at adding another 2849 to my collection as its a reference im particularly fond of.

I have found a very nice example, however one tiny detail is putting me off - the applied omega logo is slightly wonky (leaning downward towards the 'G' of the OMEGA logo. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? It's a very subtle thing to see. But other 2949s are all straight. The watch is otherwsie a nice example and not a redial, imo. i wonder if if left the factory like this?

interested to hear what you guys think. huge thanks to the OF forums for providing a platform for these sort of random queries, and cheers to anyone with any advice!

have a great day all.

It looks pretty nice overall, the only thing being the aging to the dial which can either look better or worse in real life. This one I think will be OK.

I wouldn't worry about the wonky symbol, a watchmaker will be able to straighten it up

Could be a tiny bend in a pin. Trying to remove and bending to shift is just a game of how many times can you bend it before it snaps off.

If it bothers you now. It’s really going to bother you if you buy it

I also think it looks nice, and the seller seems to be doing a good job honestly showing the condition of the dial.

It’s a gilt dial which is nice. These usually have some deterioration of lacquer
Mine for comparison

Ive not seen a variation from factory like that. the lean on the dial logo is subtle but noticeable

What is asking price? That dealer is usually quite high

Well that’s 2x value and with import tax from Japan even higher.
So it would be pass for me esp with the bent logo
