    I think it's a nice watch but $647 is a crazy high price. I have my doubts that it's NOS, probably more like a well cared for and well restored piece, but paying more than $500 is just wrong. Personally, I couldn't see going over $400 if it were me. Wittnauer simply doesn't command that kind of money unless it's a specialized watch like a supercompressor.

    Thanks a lot for the feedback, its greatly appreciated. Have been looking for a very clean birth year watch but I want something completely original. As long as there was no excessive polishing and a re-dial, what exactly would be restored? Am sure its a basic question but am unsure as to what constitutes a restore. Thanks

    It looks like it has been polished and rebrushed, but not terribly overdone. I can't tell you if it's a redial without taking a loupe to the dial though. There are several places that have the correct font down pat for AutomatiC and the WITTNAUER is a pretty basic font. If it is a redial it's done pretty well.
