    Hi Guys,
First post, nice to "meet" you all.

I've found the old speedy, and from my untrained eye I think it looks quite alright.

    reference. 145022 - 74.

It has (unfortunately) recently been polised however also serviced (which is nice)
If someone, could help me with checking the pictures and give me some advice if everything looks "OK" and if there is any warning signs, I should be aware of.

    I would highly appreciate it.

Pics are not the best, but it looks like a a step dial, which could be right for a -74. Hands looks like serviced replacements. You would probably want to check caseback and mov't to confirm if its indeed a -74.

What about it was serviced? "Serviced" can mean many things to sellers.

Pics are insufficient for a complete evaluation, but I like the original 1171 bracelet, case doesn't look badly polished to me (I've seen much worse), but the knockout is the really unattractive lume on the dial and how its a complete mismatch with the hands. The appeal of these early 70's Speedy's, for me, is the patina on the tritium dial and hands, and how they turn a really warm creamy caramel color... I'd keep looking for that. Then again, everything has its right price, but I wouldn't pay more than about $2800 USD for it.

I appreciate your feedback, and I totall agree with you in regards to the lume, that is really a shame. I might keep looking for one with original hands and nice patined lume.

Yeah - one with great lume on dial and hands and a step dial, with bracelet, seem to be 4k+ USD in the collectors market these days. Nonstep with the same and bracelet are a bit under 4. This one, on the other hand, would be much less. Obviously if you 'found' this from an original owner then the price might still be right.
