Thoughts on these two watches.

Hello forum members.
Thank you all for a fantastic though and regularly sobering fountain of knowledge.

I have recently bought these two watches and would like to have a view on what they really are.

the first was sold as seamaster deville ref 135.020 1964 - no photos of the calibre sadly , stainless steel and very sharp lugs. Nice patina on the dial , hands look too good to be original? ( apart from seconds which is a bit rough ) , crown feels off ? lovely to wear - this size is perfect for my small wrists.

The other one feels like a Turkish assembled fake - but I really like the look.

It was advertised as a ref 2893 with a calibre 267
The case is polished to within a mm of it’s little life. Is any of this combo plausible ? The dial has a patinatastic honeycomb vibe - 36mm and feels a bit odd to wear.

looking fwd to be educated on both.
Cheers and nice to meet you

Welcome to the forum, Zohar. Sounds like you're enjoying your new watches, which is great.

The DV looks like it wears nicely. The case is sharp. There's some dial bubbling which is a turn off for some, but not all.

The 2893 has a warm appearance thanks to the gold tones. To me, the patination looks a little off from 6-7 and around 3.

You bought watches from Chrono24 without knowing "what they really are" ?
good point!
I guess buying there is safer ?

As many have demonstrated on this forum , it is very hard to know what you are really buying for sure unless you are very experienced or ask here first. i read as much as I could but am keen to find out as
Much as I can.

Would you suspect the patina is fake ?
How about the rest of it ?

can you please let me know what you make of this 2893 ?

I think the condition is a bit rough, but I'm not seeing any major problems at first glance.

The Seamaster is indeed from Chrono24. The 2893 was bought in an online auction so I was not sure how genuine it is.

I can't say for certain about the patina, not everything ages evenly.

In terms of what else, I did see 20 microns stamped on the case back. There aren't any spots where the gold looks worn through -- which is great. However, given the polished appearance, perhaps the case was re-plated at some point in the past?

At the end of the day, it sounds like you are happy with the watches. And we're glad to have you sharing them here.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated.
I am new to this and I still marvel many times a day at wearing these beautifully complex machines, still doing their job perfectly after so many years, looking so elegant and satisfying to the eye. They are a joy.
